Priceless Pearl

Do you understand how much I care?
How much I want this to be?
because I have never loved
anyone as much as I love thee.

Keep my heart and guard it well
for it is a fragile thing
do not harm it
or violate such a marvelous thing.

For I am but one
and you are but one
in God's created world
guarding our innocense like a priceless pearl.

It is as though we met
and love brought us here
two young kids
with nothing to fear.

So take my heart and keep it safe
put it in some special place
and until that special day arrives
when we are joined in God's eyes
we can stand before the world
and say... we've guarded our innocense like a priceless pearl.
